Did you watch the Oscars? Our special seats were at Byron Allen and Entertainment Studios Oscar party.
Oscar Sunday! One of my favorite pictures of me and my dad. This was one of the years that I hosted the official Academy Awards Pre-Show. Dad was my date for the show and the Governor’s Ball. We had such a great time. I miss him so much. A cherished memory.
This woman is amazing! Had such a great time interviewing Oscar nominated costume designer Ruth Carter today. Her stories working on Black Panther, Malcolm X, Amistad and SchoolDaze had us on the edge of our seats! #BlackHistory
Such a wonderful night at the 10th Anniversary of the African American Film Critics Association Awards honoring excellence in TV and Film.
May this day not go by without you knowing how amazing you are!
Social media has been abuzz with the #10YearChallenge! You are asked to post a picture of yourself from 10 years ago next to a current picture. This daring task is to find out how much you have changed - both physically and emotionally - in the last decade. So, I’m up for the challenge!
Physically, you can be the judge. Emotionally, I am less bothered by negativity: I see failure as an opportunity for growth and I am a much better philanthropist. I’m more engaged with those I love and I am also a producer of content!
How about you? How have you changed in the last 10 years?
Whoa! THREE MILLION viewers?! The numbers are in and the 90 Day Fiance Tell All Reunion shows that I hosted had the highest ratings in the show’s history and were the #1 shows in all cable on both nights that they aired. They also fueled TLC to log its highest ratings in 10 years for W25-54. Mom, this is for you since 90 Day Fiance and its two spinoffs - Before the 90 Days and Happily Ever After are your guilty pleasures!
Excited to share this new article with you!
Scenes from the Netflix Golden Globes party: Actor Idris Elba, his fiancé Sabrina Dhowre and his beautiful daughter, Isan Elba who was Miss Golden Globe. On far left, my friend, Debra Langford.
I have covered 16 Golden Globe red carpets. Last night, was a really fun one for me because I got to experience the show in quite a different way. I was invited to the Netflix viewing party at the Waldorf Astoria and then the after-party at the Beverly Hilton. Such a wonderful night with my dear friend, Debra Langford. ❤️
This is the ONLY way I bring in the new year! 🙌🏾 Being in church the moment the clock strikes midnight is a tradition for me. It’s where I give thanks for all the blessings God bestowed on me the past 365 days and to pray with a humble heart that He will guide my path these next 12 months. And it was a PRAISE PARTY!!! 🎉 Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer of Faithful Central Bible Church delivered (as always) an rousing sermon as we all counted down to midnight. And we daaaannce! 💃🏾 Folks steppin’ in the aisles! Bishop and his amazing wife, Togetta, have been a blessing in my life for years. So has my sister-in-law, Carolyn, who visiting from Atlanta. I am wishing all of you a wonderful 2019 and may God make this a prosperous year for you!
Carolyn and me right before midnight
You guys know how close I was to my daddy. Well, Dad had some great friends in Detroit and whenever I am back in the city, they have a get-together in Dad’s name to celebrate him. The party is usually at the home of Pam (in the red glasses) and Clyde (one of his jazz buddies), Rochel (with the scarf around her neck) use to hang with Dad and have these brilliant philosophical discussions, Barbara, (with the twists) called Dad her “brother”. Even Mom came to hang out. Being around this “family” makes me feel so close to my father. I can feel his spirit. 🙏🏾

Pam and Clyde have these pics of my dad in their study. The one on the right is from our dual birthday party and the one one the left is Dad having a laugh with his friend Donald. (I love that one sooo much. What were they laughing about?)
