Keeping Mom safe. ♥️ I would love to give her a big kiss on the cheek however, since I have been traveling, I don’t want to take any risks. I ordered masks 😷 and face shields 🛡 for her. Christmas Day, I brought a big plate of food over that my aunt fixed for her. We met outside in the snow for a few minutes (not going in her house). Super quick pic and back to social distancing. Despite my 12th negative Covid test - the last of which I took last Saturday, while we are in this pandemic, this is how we will be. An abundance of FaceTime calls and many “I love you’s”.
Merry Christmas!! Wishing you love and peace on this blessed day! This picture taken in 2012 is one of my favorites of Dad, Mom and me. We were waiting for our table in a restaurant in my hometown Detroit when we saw Santa chilling in the window and we asked if we could take a picture. I was blessed with two loving parents - Dad, who is now my Heavenly angel and Mom who I get to spend this holiday with. This has been a tough year. Challenging beyond measure. But, finding every single thing to be grateful for - like people who love you - will give us HOPE for the future. God bless you and keep you safe. ♥️🙏🏾💚
The Christmas display at Campus Martius in downtown Detroit is so beautiful! Alison, little Sarah and I checked out the decorations.

“I would argue that you have better health care in these trials...and it’s a way to narrow the gap in health equity.” That’s a quote by Dr. Jayne Morgan - cardiologist and the Clinical Director of the COVID Task Force at the Piedmont Healthcare Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia. She discussed with me why African Americans are reluctant to volunteer for clinical trials and how trials can actually provide top-notch, quality health care for vulnerable populations.
Wishing you and your family a peaceful and safe Thanksgiving! 🍂🧡
The United Nations General Assembly has designated November 25th as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The premise of the day is to raise awareness of the fact that women around the world are subject to rape, domestic violence and other forms of violence. Furthermore, one of the aims of the day is to highlight that the scale and true nature of the issue is often hidden. There is no “they”. It’s not a hoax. There is no conspiracy. It’s a virus. Let’s protect ourselves.
On this Veterans Day, we honor all of those who have served in our military forces…including my beloved daddy. I love and miss you, Dad. #MyAngel
