I am so proud of this film and excited to be an Executive Producer! I hope you tune in to the premiere of LUST: A Seven Deadly Sins Story on Saturday, April 10th at 8pm/7c on Lifetime!
Easter brunch with VP’s: Vaccinated People. 🐣 It felt so good to celebrate Easter with my girlfriends and a yummy brunch: Denise White, Kynderly Haskins, Carla Peay. We have all had our second dose of, either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. Masks were required coming in and going out of the restaurant and tables were, at least, 6 feet apart. We look forward to gathering again with more friends - as we follow CDC guidelines - once they are vaccinated also.
Got my shot! On Thursday, I received my second dose of the Moderna vaccine. Everything with very smoothly. About an hour after I got the shot, I started feeling a little tired so, went home and rested the rest of the day. The next day, I woke up with a sore arm but, other than that, no other symptoms. I feel great but, I’m still going to wear my mask to keep others safe. Hope you got yours! 💉
Video shoot for my new role as Executive Producer of the upcoming Lifetime movies #LUST and #ENVY. We talked about the need for giving more women the opportunity to become filmmakers and the unique perspective that women bring to filmmaking. I can’t wait to bring these movies to you! They are based on the books written by Victoria Christopher Murray. Get your popcorn! 🍿 🎥 #broaderfocus
Happy 94th birthday to Mr. Sidney Poitier! 🎉 (I was suppose to post this yesterday...) Mr. Poitier, thank you for bringing such dignity and grace to the world. You are a master at your craft and your artistry will be studied for generations to come. Have a wonderful birthday, King! ❤️
I had a great conversation with Ray McGuire about his incredible career and journey to becoming one of the highest ranking and longest serving black executives on Wall Street. He also tells me why he left his coveted position and decided to enter politics with his run for mayor of NY.
A friend just sent me this picture from the red carpet at the SAG Awards when I interviewed Ms. Cicely Tyson. She always exuded just JOY. I was honored to be in her presence many times. An icon, a legend, a Queen. 🕊 A beautiful angel.
This is the woman who inspired me to become a journalist. Beverly Payne was the first African American female newscaster in my hometown Detroit. In honor of Black History Month, I salute her. I never met Ms. Payne but seeing her made me, as a little girl, know what was possible.
So excited for my Detroit homegirl, Cass Tech and Spelman College classmate Rosalind Brewer for being named the new CEO of Walgreens! Roz is amazing. We have known each other since we were 15-years-old when we grew up across the street from each other on the northwest side of Detroit. We went to high school and college together and I am so proud of her! Roz moves from her position as COO of Starbucks to becoming the only African American female CEO of a Fortune 500 company! Roz, I love you. So many young girls are looking up to you and seeing the possibilities of their own life. You are some special #BlackGirlMagic!
This picture is from the day I interviewed him at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. I love this image because you could see in his face how proud he was to be there at the games representing the United States. It’s been one year since we lost the legend. RIP 🙏🏾
