Had a great time hosting a special screening of the new Aretha Franklin movie, RESPECT. Loved interviewing the phenomenal cast including the star and my girl Jennifer Hudson who embodies my long-time friend and Detroit homegirl, Aretha; Marlon Wayans is amazing as Aretha’s first husband and manager Ted White; Audra McDonald beautifully plays Aretha’s mother, Barbara; and Tituss Burgess brings Rev. James Cleveland to life!! And, yes! That is the handsome Smokey Robinson who was a special guest in the audience! Let’s support #RESPECT! 🎥
