Loved this beautiful photo set-up at the MACRO Pre-Oscar party. (If not for the good lighting, it sure gave my feet a rest during the night! 💃🏾)
Coming up! WRATH! It’s the third movie in our 7 Deadly Sins series on Lifetime! Set your DVR’s for Saturday, April 16th at 8p/7c. Check out the trailer below! 👇🏾
Hosting the Leading Women Defined Summit founded by my friend Debra Lee. It’s an amazing group of business women coming together to inspire, network and encourage each other.
On this, the great Mary Wilson’s Birthday, I found this #tb picture from the day she was a guest on my talk show, in my hometown Detroit. Mary was, of course, already a legend however, I remember her being one of the nicest, most gracious people I had the pleasure of interviewing. We talked about her early days at Motown and singing in the Supremes. What joy she brought! A Heavenly Birthday, Mary! We salute you! 💖
A big “Thank You!” to 10-year-old Brianna for presenting me with the ‘Black History Month’ Award for Outstanding Achievements in our community and the world, given by McCoy Memorial Baptist Church. And, Leah Pump, I love you dearly for nominating me for this award that recognizes role models to future generations. I am humbled and honored and accept with all gratitude. 💖 #blessedandgrateful

It’s back on the set in Vancouver for the final week of filming! 🎥 Today is going to be a pretty long day but, we’ve got a great crew and I am so excited to be an #ExecutiveProducer on these movies! Our amazing cast will be announced soon!
Sometimes, all you need is a little…❤️
Executive producing a film means making dozens of decisions each day. This is now my 4th movie where I share an EP chair and there is nothing like being right here on set and seeing the process from the beginning until the moment you watch it on TV!
Loved watching the Janet Jackson documentary! This #tb picture is from a one-on-one interview I did with her. Janet was kind enough to sign a copy of my book for teen girls on building self-esteem, “Exactly As I Am”. I know the topic resonated with her after the journey she has had to fully love and accept herself. I’m so happy that she is finally able to speak her truth. 💜
Dr. Christine Farris was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s sister. She was one of my teachers when I was a student at Spelman College. I remember the first day of class with Dr. Farris. There were whispers amongst us young students, that our teacher was, indeed, related to the larger-than-life Dr. King whom I had only known through my high school history books and the calendar on Grandma’s kitchen wall. One kid raised her hand and asked, “Did you know Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.?” Dr. Farris, who was so regal in her stance, said in a slow, measured tone, “Yeeess. Martin was my younger brother.” We all gasped! We were riveted whenever she would tell us stories of her and brother’s life and how we should all strive for excellence for ourselves and justice for all people. How excited was I when I saw Dr. Farris several years ago at an event at Spelman where I received an award and she was being honored also! She was still as regal as ever! How life comes full circle. Today, I remember both Dr. King and Dr. Farris and their lessons that must be continued today.
So, when Mom and I were going through old pictures while I was home in Detroit for the holidays, we came across this one of her. Mom told me she did some modeling back-in-the-day and needed some pictures so her dad, my grandfather, “Daddy Jimmy”, took these of her. I think I look more like her in the first one - the smiling one - but, I can also see the resemblance in serious pic. (Or should I say the “sexy” one, Mom? 😉)
