Flashback to #Oscars 2008. 💚 This picture is from one of the four years that I hosted the Academy’s Official Oscar Pre-Show. Dad was my date. He was so excited to be there! I have covered 16 Academy Awards throughout my career when I was host at Access Hollywood. I remember standing on that red carpet, for the first time (years before this picture was taken) and kept thinking…I’m a little black girl from the northwest side of Detroit, Michigan - thousands of miles away from the bright lights of Hollywood. What it took to get me there - at a time when I was one of only a few faces of color on the red carpet - was a dream, hard work, supportive parents and blessings from my Almighty Lord above. As I look at this picture that brings back so many memories, I’m wishing all of my friends reporting from the red carpet and all the nominees “Good Luck!” and a wonderful time at the big show! 🏆

On this, the great Mary Wilson’s Birthday, I found this #tb picture from the day she was a guest on my talk show, in my hometown Detroit. Mary was, of course, already a legend however, I remember her being one of the nicest, most gracious people I had the pleasure of interviewing. We talked about her early days at Motown and singing in the Supremes. What joy she brought! A Heavenly Birthday, Mary! We salute you! 💖
A big “Thank You!” to 10-year-old Brianna for presenting me with the ‘Black History Month’ Award for Outstanding Achievements in our community and the world, given by McCoy Memorial Baptist Church. And, Leah Pump, I love you dearly for nominating me for this award that recognizes role models to future generations. I am humbled and honored and accept with all gratitude. 💖 #blessedandgrateful
