Family Time

I hope you are surrounded by people who love you this #Thanksgiving. 🧡 First pic: Mom, my sister-in-law, Carolyn and my sister, Carla. Second pic: My nephews, Jacob, Benjamin and David and my brothers-in-law, Paul and Mike.

Leading Women Defined

Women need safe spaces to be vulnerable, to get support, to feel empowered. My dear friend Debra Lee has created such a space through her Leading Women Defined organization. I had an amazing time co-hosting the first #LWD event especially curated for my hometown Detroit. So many wonderful women in the room who were from Detroit or work in the city. I had the pleasure of interviewing the amazingly talented designer (and my Cass Technical High School classmate) Tracy Reese and wore one of her gorgeous Hope for Flowers dresses, and the amazing Melissa Butler, owner and founder of The Lip Bar - and I’m lovin’ wearing her #BawseLady lip color. 👄 We had a wonderful conversation about Profound Endurance. And, of course, we were at the Shinola Hotel, which is sooo Detroit!

My Dad, the Vet

On this Veterans Day, we honor those who have served our country and those continuing to serve…including my favorite vet, my beloved daddy. Thank you for your service, Dad. I love you and miss you, dearly.

The Best Board!

Running a nonprofit is tough work and you can’t do it alone. These ladies are the wind beneath my wings! They are the Board Members for the S.H.A.U.N. Foundation for Girls! 💜 From left: Ivy Walker (Treasurer); Yours Truly/President; Lisa Gilford (Secretary) and J. Simone Jones. They joined the SFFG at a time when my foundation was in a transition and I really needed help to continue my mission to empower underserved and underrepresented girls and young women. It is with their commitment, guidance, expertise and love that my foundation has been able to touch the number of lives that we have. Just when I needed a miracle, God sent me these angels. 💜
