“I am a gazelle so swift, so swift, you can’t catch me”. RIP NIKKI GIOVANNI. One of the greatest poets ever. 🙏🏾 I remember being backstage covering an event and chatting with Omari Hardwick when, in walked Nikki Giovanni. With all the stars, we were both excited to see this icon. The last time I had been in a room with Ms. Giovanni is when I was a student at Spelman College and she came to speak to us a read her poem, “Ego Tripping.” An incredible experience.
