Running a nonprofit is tough work and you can’t do it alone. These ladies are the wind beneath my wings! They are the Board Members for the S.H.A.U.N. Foundation for Girls! 💜 From left: Ivy Walker (Treasurer); Yours Truly/President; Lisa Gilford (Secretary) and J. Simone Jones. They joined the SFFG at a time when my foundation was in a transition and I really needed help to continue my mission to empower underserved and underrepresented girls and young women. It is with their commitment, guidance, expertise and love that my foundation has been able to touch the number of lives that we have. Just when I needed a miracle, God sent me these angels. 💜

Alternatives for Girls
This is why I am passionate about the work I do through the S.H.A.U.N. Foundation for Girls. While visiting my hometown Detroit, I had a chance to tour the faculty for one of our partners - Alternatives for Girls which provides shelter and safety for girls and young women who have either been homeless, in abusive domestic situations or trafficked. When you give to the S.H.A.U.N. Foundation for Girls, your donation helps nonprofits like AFG and others that believe “when you empower a girl, you will change the world!”
1) AFG staff member, Zaneshai, gives me a tour of the facility. 2) Young lady who sought services from AFG for her and her baby. 3) When girls come into AFG, they are provided clothing 4) the Activities Room is a room to inspire 5) Women w small children are given a place to rest 6) Outside the facility 7) AFG provides much-needed resources 8) Staff member, Viola, explains that the girls and young women who come off streets have nothing but the clothes on their backs 9) Playroom for the children 10) AFG artwork - Tree of donors
